Brewing is now well underway in Lilydale. Glenn and Simon have already released some delicious Pale Ale, and Hefeweizen, and the word is that there will be several new products available in bottles and kegs over the next few weeks. The first batch produced in the brewery, the Batch 1 Scotch Ale has been completely consumed, and the first batches of Celtic and Bohemian Pilsener are being released in kegs. |

Chef Chris Unitt’s summer menu features some great new Yarra Valley products, including the Gentle goats curd tortellini with Richard Thomas’ Last Tango Butter. Our stuffed zucchini flowers are not to be missed, and the Tildara lamb rump with crushed potato, broad beans, mint, and fetta served with seeded mustard and parsley jus is just heaven. In the dessert section Nicole Murphy and Jessie Crossley, have begun producing housemade sorbets for summer, in a great, ever changing range of flavours, and the Chocolate bavarois with genache is a must have for chocoholics. The breakfast menu has also been reinvigorated with divine coconut and banana pancakes served with caramel sauce, also housemade granola with natural yoghurt and stonefruits.
Don’t forget that ‘Locals Night’ is every Thursday with our great special - 2 courses for $35, including either a pot or a glass of Yarra Valley wine, new menus weekly. Book early!

All "Foodies" are welcome to try some new and exciting food and wine matches.
A main course including matched wine is available for $25.
Wine or food producers are also welcome to come and give tastings of their new releases or products in return for a free meal for up to two . Bookings need to be made by wineries or producers wanting to take advantage of this opportunity.

Since February’s fires, there have been many developments. The need to create a new brewery has given us the impetus to move site, increase the volume that we produce, and improve our brewing and packing systems. A new brewing plant was purchased from Beechworth, and has been installed in Factory No 60, Beresford Road, Lilydale, which will become the new brewing headquarters. Simon and Glenn in the brewery have been working around the clock to put the plant together, and will hopefully have the system up and running by the start of July. We have also purchased a bottling line, and a labelling machine, all great news to those of us who have brewed, hand packed and labelled the beer at Hargreaves Hill over the last five years. We will also have equipment capable of making lagers, and other new specialty beers, which will ensure that we are able to keep thirsty beer lovers happy for a long time to come. A huge thanks to all those breweries, and benefactors who have offered brew time, or financial support, and through their generosity have kept Hargreaves Hill alive.

On Saturday June 7th we will have a party to launch one of our new beers ‘The Bohemian’ with a gourmet Barbeque, accompanied by a gyspy jazz group featuring Michael Arvanitakis and Kate Kelsy, so if you haven’t been out for a while, or need a reason to celebrate, join us between 12pm and 3, as we try to lift the roof off the old bank.
