The Wine
The restaurant has a carefully selected wine list from many independent wine makers such as Mac Forbes, Jamsheed and Timo Mayer. The Mac Forbes Pinot has all of Mac’s hallmark berry flavours and smoothness. We have also discovered Miller’s Sauvignon Blanc to be a winner with wintry flavoured food, definitely not your average lean mean Sauv Blanc. The Coombe Farm Chardonnay is also new to us - it’s a lovely upright, proper Chardonnay, made at Helen’s Hill, the Ingram Road Sparkling is also adding some pizzaz to our Sparkling section.
Also on the winelist is Luke Lambert's Syrah - not to be missed by the fire this winter. Rob Dolan’s No. 29 range from Sticks has a true full bodied Chardonnay, a silky and rich Pinot, and a Cabernet, all worth savouring. We might also be seeing a bit more of Timo Mayer’s ‘Big Betty’.
