At Hargreaves Hill, we believe in tradition. We make ale the old fashioned way - no preservatives, chemicals or sugars. We brew according to the Reinheitsgebot - the German Purity Law of 1516, which states that only malt, water and hops can be used in brewing, otherwise it's simply not beer.

Our ales are traditionally bottle conditioned, utilising live yeast in the bottle. Yeast is a natural anti-oxidant, and hops contain alpha-acids, which act as a natural preservative and also add bitterness and aroma to our beer.

Our beer is left naturally opaque, a true indication that you're drinking a full-flavoured hand-crafted ale.
